Frosthauch
Band Bio
Frosthauch
was founded in early 2002 in order to create some dirty Black Metal. Back
then the line up was: Michael (all guitars), Sarah (bass guitar) and Julian
( all vocals). After a short while we found a drummer called Borislav Angelov
who came from Bulgaria.
Soon we found a room to rehearse and started to write some own material. I
found the name Frosthauch (which means breath of frost) in Anne Rice´s
famous book, „The Vampire Lestat. The Second Book in the Chronicle of Vampies".
I liked the ambivalence of the word and thought that this was an rather unusual
name for a Black Metal band.
After a year and a half we found out that rehearsing one time a week for two
hours was not that effective and so we took another room where we could stay
for four hours every Saturday. This room was in a town (called Bonn) a bit
further away from ours (Cologne) and we even found some more disadvantages:
It was a hole, that means that there were dead mice, cockroaches, rotten fruits
and so on. I guess the worst thing must have been when there was (dried) blood
on the drum - set and the guy who owned the room thought that we as a Black
Metal band must have had done some obscure things there. It was in those days
when Sarah decided to quit. Over the last months she had lost her enthusiasm
about playing bass so we understood her decision to leave the band. Since
then we have been rehearsing as a three - piece.
In the end of 2002 we were joined by a second guitar - player called Mishel
who was a friend of Borislav and who had already played with him in a band
in Bulgaria. His skills made a big impact on us and we got better.
In early 2003 we finally decided to quit the unbearable rehearsal - room.
Nowadays we are trying to get back in shape and to finally record our first
demo.
Hailz to the underground,
Julian (in behalf of Frosthauch)
